I saw these Luka Snare drums at the booth area at this year's Montreal Drum Fest. I was amazed at the construction. The manufacturer, who is near Quebec City says that the Montreal Drum Shop called Italmelodie sells them in larger quantities.
One that caught my eye had a 3 inch thick shell ! (approx)
The sound at the booth was so crisp. But I'm wondering if they are drums that "project" in a venue ?

PROJECT!!!! we had to block our ears all day! that snare ripped my ear drums to shreds! you can check out any snare drum in a store and expect it to sell between 600.00-720.00 for any size/.10 inch being the least, and 14 being the most.
That 3 inch thick drum was all one solid piece of wood, it went to Ital if you want to check it out.

hey warunki, contack jeff towers [email protected] he'll give you a price. That should be the closest store to you right now. You can walk into any drum shop and inquire about a drum, they shop guys we usually get a price for a drum they don;t carry too.
the 10x5.5x1/2 is a standard model, a 7 inch depth would be a special order, but shouldn't take more than 6 weeks. All depends on lhow long the 10 inch stock we have is. But it will be a true solid shell.
thanks CL.
